A nursing mother identified as Damilola Opeyemi has been remanded in prison custody by an Oyo State Magistrate Court in Ibadan. She is accused of stabbing her husband to death during a fight over noodles.
The incident occurred at the couple’s residence in the Adogba Ajegede area of Ibadan, Oyo State. Trouble started between Damilola Opeyemi and her husband, Oluwashina, 27 years old, over the noodles that they were supposed to have for dinner.
During the heated altercation, Damilola Opeyemi allegedly used a knife to fatally stab her husband.
He was rushed to a hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries. The police arrested Damilola following the incident.
After conducting their investigations, the police arraigned Damilola Opeyemi before the Magistrate Court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, where she was charged with murder.
During the court proceedings, Inspector Olalekan Adegbite, the Police Prosecutor, testified that on July 4, 2023, at around 8:30 pm, Damilola Opeyemi caused the death of her husband by stabbing him during an argument they had over dinner.
The victim was immediately taken to a hospital for medical treatment, but unfortunately, he did not survive.
The suspect was subsequently arrested, and the body of the deceased was deposited at the mortuary.
As the case continues, Damilola Opeyemi remains in prison custody awaiting further legal proceedings
