Indomie Noodles, a product of Dufil Prima Foods Plc on Tuesday fed about 1000 vulnerable families in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The vulnerable families also received 1carton of indomie each as a take home.
This according to the company is to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal on the livelihood of poor citizens.
The representative of the company while speaking with newsmen at the CDHR Ogun rights house said the kind gesture is to support the government in reaching out to the people, adding that this is not first of its kind across the country.
He said” This is to support the government in reaching out to the poor citizens, we realized Government can not do it alone and that is why we have decided to give free meal to 1000 poor citizens and today each family will recieve 1 carton of indomie each. This is not the first we will be doing this, we have been doing it for long across the country.
“As a responsible corporate organization we deemed it fit that we need to reach our to poor people at this critical time, what we have done is that we know that schools are resuming and we know parents we need to provide for their children. We have also done a lot of educational support for public primary and secondary schools across the country. Today everybody will enjoy sumptuous meals and finally I will like to tell you that this will not end here.
The company therefore appreciated the efforts of the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun for creating enabling environment for the company.
The Executive Director, Human Rights and Grassroots Development Society, HRGDS, Comrade Yinka Folarin appreciated Indomie Noodles company for the kind gesture, saying that it will help to alleviate the hardships the citizens are facing as result of the fuel subsidy removal.
Other dignitaries present were the representative of the Commissioner for Women affairs, the representative of the PCRC chairman, the representative of the FRSC chairman, representative of the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State among others.
