A frontline politician under the platform of All Progressives Congress party (APC) and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Abiodun on environment , Hon. Farouq Akintunde has felicitated with Muslims on the completion of Ramadan fast and occasion of Eid-el-Fitri celebration.
The Balogun of Iporo Muslims in a statement he personally signed called on Muslim ummah to consolidate on the gains and lessons learnt during the period of Ramadan fast.
He urged Muslims to allow the lessons learnt reflect in their ways of life and conduct towards fellow citizens.
Farouq Akintunde described Eid-el-Fitri as holy period when prayers are promptly accepted and urged Muslims to use the occasion to offer prayer for peace, unity and tranquility, especially as Nigeria was transiting from one administration to another.
He further called on all Muslim brethren to celebrate in modesty.
“As we end the Ramadan fast let us consolidate on the gains of our fasting and the lessons therein to move closer to Almighty Allah.
“Let us also reflect on the significant of the Ramadan fast and Eid-el-Fitri celebration to offer prayers for our leaders and the country for the desired peace, unity, growth, progress and socio-economic development for the country.
“I also want to use the opportunity of this Eid-el-Fitr period to appeal to all Muslims, especially the youths, to celebrate in modesty and be law abiding.
“Let us extend our hands of assistance to those in need and the less privilege in the society for them to feel a sense of belonging and also live comfortably.
“On behalf of myself and family, I felicitate with all Muslims in Ogun State and Nigeria at large as they join other Muslims across the globe in celebrating this year 2024 Eid-el-Fitri and I pray for more prosperous and peaceful celebration ahead (Amin),” Farouq added.
