“Seven chairmanship aspirants, including ourselves, were unaware of the nomination process. Stakeholders invited by Governor Abiodun withheld information, favoring their preferred candidate.
“In 2019, we supported Governor Abiodun’s governorship bid despite hardships. Now, the GNI faction, welcomed into APC, dominated key positions:
“- Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI): House of Representatives member
– Hon. Wasiu Isiaka: Commissioner for Sports Development
– Hon. Jemili Akingbade: House of Assembly member
– Mr. Ayoola: Education Secretary
– Chief Monitoring Officer and
– Two Monitoring Officers,
They added that GNI’s group dominated the above positions and still wants to claim the chairmanship position, nominating Hon. Theophilus Olorode Aremu.
“Prince Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka also approved six councillorship slots for himself and four for Hon. Jemili Akingbade, leaving none for APC Proper.
“We urge Governor Abiodun to address this imbalance and consider APC Proper, led by Alhaji Yaya Fadipe Akande (Afro).
