I’m The Best For Abeokuta South – Adegun
Can we meet you sir?
I am Hon Olayinka Abiodun Adegun, i am from Abeokuta South Local Government. I was once a councilor under the Defunt ACN, my late dad was a great politician before his death and he had held several political positions.
What position are you contesting for this time around?
i am contesting for the position of an executive chairman in Abeokuta South which i believe i am up to the task.
Tell us why you are on the race?
I thought it is wise enough to contest so as to interprete my long accumulated ideas and dreams to reality which are: Improvement in local health care delivery, Improvement through our government/cda initiative, Farm/business/employment initiative, Roads & operation no potholes initiative, Industrial borehole initiative for communities, operation light up the streets.
As an experienced person in politics, you were once a councilor, what were your achievement then?
when i was a Councilor, i was able to achieve a lot which are Youth and women empowerment, Provision of pipeborne water to the 2 zones in my community, Facilitation of the Isele Ijeun/oke ipa pedestrian Bridge, Facilitation of borehole at Kobiti, Provision of furnitures to students & staffs of NUD primary school Isale Ijeun, Support to the aged & scholarship to children within the ward.
Your late Dad was a politician who is well known, do you see that as an advantage for you becoming the next chairman?
Well maybe but seriously I really do not like to leverage on anyone’s popularity, I want to build mine. My late dad’s parents were politicians too, they weren’t as popular as my dad, he built his own career and name so that’s just what I’m doing too, politics and the leadership skills runs in our veins. It runs in the family.
was you late Dad in support of you ambition before his death?
He was very much informed and convinced of my ability.
There are many chairmanship aspirants, what is your chance of wining?
I believe in God almighty and I also believe in the leadership and members of the party. They know capacity when they see one.
Are you more qualified than them?
God created all men with capacity, capacity varies but as regards the local government administration and service to the people with the people I’ve seen so far, I think God still make me the best among all chairmanship aspirants.
if by God’s grace you are chosen as the candidate, how will you work in tardem with the AGENDA of Prince Dapo Abiodun?
Lucky enough the “building our future together” agenda of Prince Dapo Abiodun goes in tandem with my highlighted programmes.
It’s like a gas & a spark, the people should expect a robust synergy between our Local Government and the governor.
Abeokuta South Local Government is a premier local government and for that reason it should be seen as the best of all, how will you achieve that?
Well, I have highlighted most of my programmes but let me quickly add that the Abeokuta South would be digitalized, so many needs of our people would access so many of their needs digitally from around the world. This alone would improve our IGR and seal up leakages.
Our social amenities won’t exclude provision of recreation centers for or wards & youths.
What is your message to the leaders and party members concerning your ambition?
Well to the good leaders of our party & the ever articulate members of our great party, I’m here presenting my self to serve the entire citizenry of our dear local government. I know you all recorgnizes capacity when you see one, I know God’s wisdom is bestowed on all of you & I believe in your decisions. Thanks.
