Ifedayo Abegunde during the commission’s World Malaria Day Enlightenment Campaign in Akure emphasizes collaborative efforts in the fight against malaria, stressing the urgency to address the disease that has claimed over 194,000 lives in Nigeria.
The NDDC conducted a successful free medical outreach benefitting over 20,000 patients and calls for a unified approach with stakeholders to eradicate malaria from the region in particular and the country in general. The NDDC urges all to join forces in combating malaria, a disease deadlier than HIV/ AIDS in tropical regions with Nigeria recording 68 million malaria cases and over 194,000 deaths, urgent action is essential.
