The Olu of Lisa kingdom under Ifo Local Goverment, Ogun State, Oba Nojeemdeen Oladele Odugbemi has expressed frustration over deplorable state of Ijoko-Lisa road.
The monarch lamented that his people have been denied the pleasure of of having a motorable road.
The Lisa community gained worldwide recognition following the tragic Bellview Flight 2010 crash that occurred in Lisa Town on October 22, 2005.
The monarch while speaking with newsmen in his palace on Saturday appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene in fixing the road , saying that the road has become impassable and perilous for the entire community.
He revealed that he has severally cried out to the Federal and State Government on the bad condition of the road but nothing had been done on it
The monarch added that what they really want from the Government is to help them to repair the road so it can be habitable for the residents.
“I want to appreciate you, gentlemen of the press for coming. I have invited you again so that our voices in Lisa Town can be heard. We have been saying this for years now and we will not stop until the Federal and State Government rescue us.
“I want to beg the Government at the national level take the necessary steps to immediately relief the plight of the residents of this community by embarking on repairs of Ijoko- Lisa Road. I have spent so much on this road, we don’t want money from the Government but our road is our concern, we want the current administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to come to our aid in fixing this road for us”
He therefore maintained that the bad state of the road has caused damage to their vehicles, especially during downpours.
