The Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ogun State, Hon. Sikirulahi Ogundele has urged all the new party members in the State to go to their various wards and register as legitimate party members.
Ogundele made this known during a stakeholder’s meeting held at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta.
He said that all intending members to go back to their respective wards attend meetings and get registered as provided by the constitution.
“I have the mandate of the national organ of the party to call on all those who have left the party to come back, let us accommodate ourselves.
“We can’t be doing the same thing the way and expect a different result. We are starting a new leave in PDP today.
“We must no tie the success and the running of the party to one person every member must have right to this party and if you want to have right you must invest. Please go back to your wards and start contributing to the party.
He also maintained that the party is one and ready to incorporate other members.
“We called this meeting to settle the rift between members who are aggrieved. It is because of the internal wranglings in the party that we lost the elections
“If there is anybody that expecting the chairman to pass insult of people, if they want me to make statement that is derogatory to anyone, honestly I’m going to disappoint that person.
“We won’t break this party, we will settle our disagreement in private and we will not wash our dirty linens outside.
“We are one in PDP, Akinlade, Adebutu, OGD and late Kashamu are all members of PDP, they are all reputable, responsible and respectable party leaders.
“Any meeting holding in other places except the party secretariat is non and void. All meeting must be held at the party secretariat.
“We are going to run this party the way it is supposed to be run. Every member here has right to contest for governor, you have right to aspire to the exco, you have right to be anything in this party.
In his remark, Adesegun Adekoya popularly known as Attacker in his speech stressed the necessity of party reorganization in order to foster harmony and togetherness among members.
“We must rejig the current leadership structure of the party to allow for equity and fairness. We must always insist on party supremacy, this is the only way PDP can be overcome its challenges”, Adesegun said.
