Excitement as Ogun Legislator donates books, cash to two schools in Abeokuta North LG

A councillor representing  ward 7, Abeokuta North Local Government, area of Ogun State, Hon. Mutiu Sanni on Thursday donated over 2,000 books( queen primer) to two  nursery and  primary schools in  his ward so as to aid easy learning of the pupils of the schools.

The legislator visited NUD, Nursery and Primary school and Alasalatu, Nursery and Primary school in the  area of the local government.

It was a pomp and celebration for the pupils as they were happy to receive Hon. Sanni.

Our correspondent gathered that parents of many of the pupils in the schools don't have money to get their children textbooks to help them to learn fast.

The legislator while presenting the queen primer to the schools,  said the gesture was his personal token contribution to the advancement of education in his ward. 

He added that he was determined within the limits of his resources to contribute to the educational well being of his people, saying he was poised to boost the educational standard of the schools.

Hon. Sanni charged the pupils to take advantage of the gesture to improve on themselves and appealed to the school heads to make good use of the materials

In her remarks, the head teacher of NUD, Primary school,  Mrs Olabode Omoyisola kikelomo hailed the initiative of Hon. Sanni.

She said''  I want to appreciate Hon. Mutiu Sanni for donating queen primer that  will make the  pupils to learn fast.  The queen primer donated by the legislator will help them a lot in their studies. When I came on  board as the head teacher of the school and I saw the bad condition of this school, i put a call to the legislator who is Hon. Sanni and he came to our aid to support us, even on Teacher's day he visited us here and gave us some gifts to appreciate us.  infact he is a man of his words and he has been doing great, we are so happy about his kind gesture. Today he bought queen primer for pupils from primary 1 to 3, part 1 from primary 1-  6 and part 2 from 4 to 6 in order to encourage our learners in reading and I want assure him that we will proper use of these queen primer and we want to appreciate and we say we need more We pray God will continue to bless him.

Mrs Olabode also commended the state government for boosting the educational standard of all schools in the State.

She therefore urged the councillors across the State to emulate the good gesture of the legislator.

Also the Head Teacher of Alasalatu Nursery and Primary school, Ita Ika,  Mrs Ekundayo commended the kind  gesture of Hon. Sanni.

She prayed God to grant Hon. Sanni more resources in his determination to contribute to the wellbeing of his people.

Mrs Ekundayo therefore thanked the councilor for the donation.
