The Senator representing APC, Ogun West, Adeola Olamilekan Yayi has begun the distribution of 20,000 bags of rice, hampers, cash grants and various quantities of provisions for Muslims as ramadan gifts.
According to Senator Yayi, the distribution of such gifts at festive and unique periods is a tradition he has kept over the years as a legislator.
The Senator in a statement signed by his media adviser, Kayode Odunaro said the gifts was part of his representative functions and in fulfilment of religious doctrines of sharing and giving.
The Ramadan package would be distributed to various Muslim organizations and mosques for their members as well as individuals in the next one week.
Senator Adeola had earlier felicitated with Muslims at the commencement of fasting 8 days ago while calling on them for prayers for the nation and the leadership as part of the fasting exercise.
