Stakeholders at the National Youth Business Summit organized by the Southern Youth Assembly of Nigeria (SYAN) has urged the federal government of Nigeria to empower the youths with entrepreneurial skills in order to discourage the “Japa” Syndrome.
They also advised the youth to embrace entrepreneurship and skill acquisitions so as to be self employed.
The admonition came on Thursday 16th of November 2023, at the 4th annual National Youth Business summit held in Ibadan Oyo state capital.
The Chairman of the national youth summit, Honorable Ahmed Ifeoluwa while giving his address at the event said ” The youths are the backbone of the society, and when we are empowered with the tools of entrepreneurship and skill acquisitions, we will not only secure our own future but also contribute significantly to the growth and stability of our dear nation, Nigeria.
” We the young Nigerians, are the heartbeat of our nation’s future. Our engagement in peace building through entrepreneurship and skill acquisitions mould the key to a more stable, prosperous and harmonious Nigeria”
One of the guest speakers, Amb. Coach Spark Ovadje urged the youth to see entrepreneurship and skill acquisitions as solution to unemployment in Nigeria, saying that it is better than white color jobs.
In his lecture, he further cautioned the youths who are leaving for Europe, America and some other developed countries of the world all in the name of greener pasture to stay back and use their potentials to develop Nigeria.
He said “it is now common among the youth of Nigeria to travel abroad all in the name of greener pasture, forgetting that no matter how long you stay over there you will still return to Nigeria one day, Nigeria is abundantly blessed by God and together will we make Nigeria a great country”
He also appreciated the organiser of the youth business summit (SYAN), saying that the platform will surely thrive in changing the life of Nigerian Youth positively.
High Chief Dr. Amb. Tanimola Oludare, the Chairman of the occasion in his own speech urges the youth to desist from all forms of criminal act and to always be a good Ambassador of Nigeria.
He said government should empower the youth and also create employment opportunities for the youth in order to eradicate cyber crimes and some other social vices among the Nigeria Youths.
Finally, he pledged his unwavering support to the Southern Youth Assembly of Nigeria (SYAN) for organising this laudable event, and also appreciate the honor bestow on him as the National Grand Patron of the organisation.
