The All Progressive Congress, Local Government Chairmen in Ogun State, have commended the commissioner for finance, Dapo Okubadejo, for managing the state account ‘jidiciously’.
The chairman of the party chairmen who also doubled as chairman of APC in Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Henry Fagbenro, aka Agbomola made the commendation on monday when he led other chairmen on a solidarity visit to Okugbadejo in his office.
Speaking on the purpose of the visit, Hon. Fagbenro expressed that they were concerned about the allegations levelled against Governor Dapo Abiodun regarding the LG funds.
The party chairman submitted that they have trust in the commissioner for finance, adding that the purported claim that Governor Abiodun tempered with LG funds was not true.
Recall that the Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government Area of Ogun State, Wale Adedayo, had accused the governor of withholding the LGs’ allocations.
He disclosed that the chairmen passed a vote of confidence on the governor while acknowledging the commissioner for properly keeping track of records.
According to them, no money was lost or mismanaged in the state.
Meanwhile, Okubadejo appreciated the chairmen for visiting him, saying that the current Administration led by Governor Abiodun has not withheld the Local Government funds.
He disclosed that Abiodun has been a sincere Governor and will not disappoint the citizens of the state who gave him the mandate.
