The Imo Traditional Council headed by the Oluwo Imo, High Chief Kola Olorunsogo Ogunwemimo has offered blessings and prayers for High Chief Dr. Olakunle Olalekan to suceed late Olu of Orile Imo, Oba Kolawole Olatunji Olubiyi- Shomiko 1.
The Chiefs/ Baales and the family head presented Dr. Olakunle to the Ogbonis in Imo, Abeokuta where they all accepted him.
The philantropist in his speech submited that he has what it takes to ascend to the throne, adding that he has brought about great development in the community.
He added that he has empowered many youths, widows and the needy in the community.
Dr. Olakunle said “I am interested in becoming the next Olu of Orile Imo, as you all know that the Olu of Orile Imo stool is vacant and i wish to ascend to the throne and i know it can only be possible when you give me your support.
“The late Olu of Orile imo, Oba Shomiko and my self together brought development into Orile Imo.
“We all know that every year, i empower youths, widows and the needy in the community.
“Allow me to borrow the word of our President , Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who said “Emilokan” it is my turn to be the next Olu of Orile Imo because i deserve it because of my achievements so far and which everyone can testify to it. I am here today to recieve your blessings and prayers in ascending the throne. Today i present a brand new Sienna for the Imo Traditional Council.
The Osi of Orile Imo, Chief Babatunde Abisoye who spoke on behalf of the Ogboni fraternity described High Chief Olakunle as a man of his words, adding that he has what it takes to be the next Olu of Orile Imo.
Chief Babatunde told journalists that he believes in the capacity of High Chief Olakunle in taking Orile Imo to a greater height.

Baale of Fere, Orile Imo, Chief Okesola Adesegun Alani also maintained that Chief Olakunle deserves to be the next monarch, adding that Asiwaju has turned Orile Imo to where companies always desire to settle down.
Ajiroba/ Baale Idofin Odo, Chief Omolade Sosanyan confirmed the eigibility of Dr. Olakunle to become the next Olu of Orile Imo.
The youth leader of Orile Imo, Chief Olorunsogo Idris Jimoh who spoke on behalf of all the youths said all the youths have endorsed Dr. Olakunle Olakunle, adding that he is a man of the people.
Iyaloja Orile-Imo, Chief Mrs Bola Idowu confirmed that Asiwaju of Orile Imo is their choice.
Chief Iman of Orile Imo, Alfa Ahmad Junaid on behalf of the muslims also declared their support for High Chief Dr Olakunle Olalekan and he also prayed for him.
Pastor Babatunde Oyerinde aka Kiniun Jesu also prayed for Asiwaju of Orile Imo and said he is the best for the job.
The Traditionalists in Orile Imo, represented by Ifashola Agboola, Baale Gbarawe, Chief Kayode Ogunyombo who is also the Alapinni Oje Imo (Elegun Meji) jointly endorsed Asiwaju of Orile Imo.
