The Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Ogun State, Ambassador Ogunsola Adesina Lanre has congratulated Children in the local government and State generally on the occasion of this year’s Children’s Day celebration.
The Chairman ‘s greetings was contained in a statement signed by the Director of Information OOLG, Prince Segun Soneye and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta.
The message is contained in his goodwill message to mark the special day set aside for children across the world.
He urged youths in the area and beyond to shun anti-social behaviors such as cultism, drug abuse, and examination malpractice.
The Chairman advised them to focus on their studies, where he said brings hope for their future and that of the country.
He added that the government at all levels is striving to provide a conducive learning environment that would enhance, deepen and expand their frontier of knowledge.
Ogunsola informed that is in addition to maintaining rigorous training of teachers to meet up with the speed of modern teaching techniques.
The Chairman used the occasion to appeal to parents not to relent in their effort to send their wards to schools, especially, girls.
He stressed the education of a girl reduces infant and maternal mortality and discourages early child marriages.
The council chairman called on parents and guardians to adequately take care of their children as they are the future leaders.
