The Governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) during the 2023 Governorship election in Ogun State, Mr. Olufemi Oguntoyinbo, has revealed reasons why he has decided to remain in the party and not defecting to other parties like some politicians during and after election.
Oguntoyinbo who spoke with Newsangle online this morning said that it is not about changing one party to another but to serve as a rescue mission to liberate Nigeria.
“I decided to remain in my party because I am the Icon of A New Nigeria, is not about changing one political party to another but as a rescue mission to liberate Nigeria
“I have not come to politics because of money but to orientate the citizens of Nigeria on the truth they need to know. I came to politics as a servant not as a boss
“My mission is to make sure that my fellow citizens stand to earn citizens benefit from their government”
Why asking him about his reaction to the expulsion of the former Chairman of the party he said “His expulsion followed the report of the Disciplinary Committee set up to investigate allegations of Anti-Party activities and other malpractices against him.
“According to the Disciplinary Committee, he failed to appear before the Committee on the two occasions he was invited to come and explain his own side in the allegations of anti-party activities and other misdemeanor against him. Instead, he resorted to abuses of the leadership of the Party.
The NWC found his act as gross insubordination capable of dragging the Party in the mud”.
He added that he is now focusing on the national development. When I mean national development , I mean to correct abnormalities of the INEC. It is intentional action for INEC to keep repeating just two political parties.
When we have 18 registered political parties. NNPP is still challenging them in court
