AFTERMATH OF BARUWA GAS EXPLOSION: SARKIN-ALIMOSHO LGA APPLAUD STAKEHOLDERS RESPONSE: SUGGESTS OVERHAUL TO LASG.

Ibrahim A. Jagaba

HRH Alhaji Ahmed Haruna Kuraja, Sarki overall of Alimosho and chairman of the chieftaincy council of Arewa community Alimosho local government Lagos, has, while, emphatizing with the victims of the explosion for the umpteenth time, called on the Lagos state government to as a matter of importance and necessity, consider a total overhaul and realignment of gas skids across the state, using Baruwa community and environ as the pilot scheme.

Speaking yesterday, the royal father maintained that, the safety of lives and property which ranks highest on the priorities of every government more than anything else, informed his call on the compassionate and proactive Lagos state government under the stewardship of his Excellency Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwoolu.

Economic buoyance no doubt figures high on governance radar and every responsible leadership srives to provide investors and entrepreneurs with the enabling environment to do business and succeed but not at the irreparable risk of carnage and possible wipe off of humans.

The incident in Baruwa, Alimosho local government, represents a strong warning signal to all concerned that, it is high time, a firm and permanent decision is taken on the way and manner gas skids architecture should be built at strategic locations not dangerous to human existence; I am confident, the state government is already thinking ahead and readily accepting potential proposals and suggestions and this is my little contribution towards a better and greater Lagos.

I seize this opportunity to graciously commend and appreciate the league of stakeholders vis a viz the Lagos state government, honorable bisi Yusuf, executive chairman Ayobo Ipaja, CP Lagos state command, DPO Ipaja division, all Lagos state agencies concerned, public spirited individuals like Mr Ifeanyi Nwadikwa and many other agencies and individuals too many to mention, who showed up at the scene to emphatize as a duty and for humanitarian purposes.
