Gov. Zulum presents 4 cows to Corps members to celebrate Sallah

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum has presented four cows to Corps members serving in the state to enable them also partake in the joyous celebration of the Eid-ul-Adha.

Desk Officer of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the state, Christopher Godwin Akaba, who is also the Governor’s SSA on Jobs Creation and Youths Empowerment, handed over the cows to various representatives of the serving corps members, comprising mainly 2019 Batch C Stream I & II and 2020 Batch A, on behalf of Governor Zulum on Friday.

The Corp members that benefitted from this gesture are the medical doctors, paramedics and other category of members who were not able to travel out of the state to visit their families during the Sallah celebration.

“Corps members must complement the gestures of NYSC and the Borno state government by being good ambassadors and advocates of peaceful co-existence and corporate existence of Nigeria, especially in this critical period of our nationhood,” Akaba stated, while conveying the Governor’s goodwill message.

He stated that the Zulum administration was committed to doing everything possible within available resources to ensure prompt payment of their state allowances and other issues relating to their welfare.

He also said the state government is always ready to give them the enabling environment to function and maximise their potential for greatness.

He therefore urged them to continue to pray for peace in the country.

Highlights of the brief ceremony was the presentation of the four cows to the Corps members, which was witnessed by the representative of the State NYSC Coordinator.
